Sterling operates across several construction and commercial related industries. Our Site Access division utilizes our flagship TerraLam CLT product as an access mat, providing a strong, durable, and more sustainable alternative to other commonly available matting products. Our Structural division transforms our TerraLam CLT product into panels for mass timber construction, bringing advantages of reduced construction time and increased sustainability over traditional building materials such as concrete and steel. And our Lion Lumber division creates high-quality wood products used in civil engineering projects and industrial freight operations.

Our corporate headquarters and primary manufacturing facility is located in Phoenix, Illinois. We also have a second manufacturing facility in Lufkin, Texas and additional offices for construction operations and shared services.

Sterling Site Access Solutions, a leading construction site access provider and the largest producer of Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) in North America, today announced a technological breakthrough in performance, durability and sustainability for its site access mats. Its patent-pending “CLT enhancement” method dramatically reduces typical deterioration caused by moisture, heat and normal wear and tear, resulting in a mat that performs optimally for up to twice as long as traditional CLT mats.

02.24.2025 – Sterling Structural Announces New Mass Timber Workforce Training Tool

Sterling Structural, a leading manufacturer of cost-effective, pre-fabricated mass timber and hybrid structural systems in North America, today announced the availability of a new Mass Timber Mock-up training kit. The kit is designed to help vocational schools, training programs and unions educate and train the construction industry workforce on the emerging use of Mass Timber in a wide range of structures.
