SFI Certified Southern Yellow Pine CLT mats

TerraLam is made sustainably. Compared to old growth hardwood mats where deforestation is common and mats made from petroleum-based materials, SYP is harvested and reforested in 20-30 year cycles. Upon reaching end of life, TerraLam mats are repurposed as mulch, renewable energy, and filter sock, as well as biochar.

CO2 emission reduction by up to 50%

TerraLam mats weigh less than traditional hardwood mats, allowing more lineal footage of matting to be loaded on each truckload.  In 2023 shipments of TerraLam mats reduced CO2 emissions by 1,948 metric tons compared to alternate mats. While also reducing spend on freight shipments

Environmental Product Declaration (EPD)

The lifecycle of TerraLam CLT mats are documented through an APD that is registered through EPD Hub in accordance with EN 15804+A2:2019 and ISO 14025. HUB-0174 covers the Raw Materials, Transport, Manufacturing, Assembly, End of Life, and Reuse of the product.

Modern Equipment with Integrated JD Link

Sterling’s fleet of construction equipment is tracked and managed using John Deere’s JD Link software.  Updated equipment minimizes emissions, and proactive equipment maintenance reduces risk of part failures that lead to spills.
