Graded Lumber

Our SFI-certified wood is domestically sourced. Only Grade 2 or better is selected and is kiln-dried, tested for precise moisture levels, and checked for straightness to meet our rigorous production standards. Storage occurs onsite with temperature and humidity controls to maintain ideal quality.

Careful Sorting of Wood

All wood entering the production line is sorted and checked for proper moisture content, straightness, and major defects prior to being selected for use in a TerraLam mat. These extra steps at the beginning ensure all mats meet the same stringent quality and consistency standards.

Setting Up The Layout

A special dance of alternating layers of wood and industrial adhesive is completed to set up what will become the TerraLam access mat. Precise movement, exacting amounts, and specific timing are all required to create a strong piece of cross-laminated timber.

Millions of Pounds of Pressure

Much of the strength of a TerraLam is based on the bond lines between each layer of wood so TerraLam mats are pressed with millions of pounds of pressure across the entire mat for very specific amounts of time to allow the adhesive to cure properly.

Seal Coated Ends

Each TerraLam is seal coated around the edges to protect the mat from water intrusion through the endgrain. This special coating is applied at the end of production with colors based on type of mat, project it’s designated for, or just customer preference.

Thorough Quality Testing

TerraLams are engineered to exceed industry standards for performance, durability, and sustainability. Each production run undergoes a rigorous quality assurance testing process in accordance with ESR-5053 standards. These tests ensure consistency and performance across production runs.

Discover the TerraLam Difference

Stronger, lighter, and more durable than traditional mats, TerraLam offers a smarter solution for your job site. Don’t settle for outdated materials when you can improve safety, efficiency, and cost savings.
